The project will be divided into three Land Bays (A through C). Land Bay A will provide up to 542 dwelling units, 255 hotel rooms, 172,000 square feet of office space and 62,500 square feet of retail uses within buildings of up to 180 feet in height. Land Bays B is planned for up to 607 dwelling units, 287 hotel rooms and 63,000 square feet of retail uses & Land Bay C is planned for up to 273 dwelling units and 120,000 square feet of retail and bank uses. Approximately 84,000 square feet of this retail space currently exists within the Harris Teeter store and will be retained.

The existing five story building will be reconstructed as a Twenty-three story building & will end up being the tallest building in Reston. The project will feature 18 levels of offices as well as street-level retail – also comes with a parking garage, an art space committed to the public; and transportation-friendly additions such as bike lockers and bus shelters. The developers will also reduce the number of parking spots and the savings will be dedicated to mass transit.

Reston Heights-11800 & 11842 Sunrise Valley Drive: http://www.reston-heights.com/ The first phase of Reston Heights, Reston Square project, has been delivered. Reston Square consists of a fully leased 140,000 square foot Class A office building, a 191 room Westin Reston Heights, and the 194 unit Mercer Condominium. The second phase of the project, which will consist of 1.25 million square feet of office space and 125,000 square feet of retail is expected to deliver in 2012.
The entire project will approximately be complete by 2015
Along with projects being constructed, they’re also major corporations moving to Reston. Naming just one corporation is one the largest engineering companies, Bechtel bringing more jobs to our community. The move to Reston Town Center will bring 625 jobs and an $18 million investment. Bechtel http://www.fairfaxcountyeda.org/companies/bechtel is the design-contractor for the Dulles Metrorail Project.
These are just a few projects that are being erected in addition to the Metrorail Silver Line. As a Restonian since 1974, Im thrilled about the constant growth of our community. We’ve already been on the map for the unique design & architectural development as a successful planned community. The focus of Reston http://reston.org was to create living areas, combined with quality of life amenities, schools, recreational facilities & commercial/ industrial offices. They’re are over 65,000 residents in Reston & the philosophy still applies with the original idea to live, work, play and enjoy life.
